The shadows of realisation

The shadows of realisation

A Poem by Lauren Xena Campbell

The mind is a labyrinth,

Twisted with complex thoughts,

Parchments stacked high filled with memories,

A library of lusts and fears.

In the labyrinth lie good and evil,

The wicked created by an outside reality,

From being cast aside, trapped and burned,

The good coming from the sun, the soul.

Men and women have tried to un-riddle the labyrinth,

Losing themselves in a reality not suited to their intellect,

But they do not understand the game,

For here only the inner child can play.

At its centre the labyrinth holds desire,

Dreams, creation, fear and fantasies,

The shadows of realisation,

Only one can reach the centre-the corners of the mind.

wow
very nicely done.. made me giggle the whole way through!
eloquent, the writing matches the feel of a labyrinth.

makes one think and take each line slowly
and reread with pace
revisiting memories, bringing experiences forward
identifying with the nature of the poem

lol...the last line...
"Only one can reach the centre-the corners of the mind."
the centre has corners...lol
the last line made me think hard and make me realize i "do not understand the game"
great write...(as usual)

thought provoking as well...
its kind of straight forward with all the pictures you paint
but at the same time it is complex like a labyrinth... a multi layered one
each line, stanza seems to unfold an unlimited number of thoughts just out of reach
more thoughts for our inner child to play with

sometimes words are inaduquate to describe something...this is one of those times (try as i might)
