To Anthea

To Anthea

A Poem by Carron

Memories of your anguish still haunt me

Your body, a painful picture from that distant past

Hours on end, I would think of you

Every thought less comforting then the previous

Always wondering

Reflecting on every conversation we had

Trying to understand why

Goodbye? There was no time

Over a rainbow you ran into the arms of another

Eventually you exist only in my memories

Sweet smile, comforting voice, pain beyond imagination

Opening the door to my future, I close the window of my past, you along with it

Under a burning sun, I ripen

Twinkling like a new coin

Tokens of affection come my way

Over rainbows I too go, never finding you on the other side though

An unexpected surprise; a shared ‘friend’

New, old feelings resurface

Triggered by your name, I melt inside

Hidden from plane view, my new face masks it well

Ending with butterflies in the place where they’re most felt

And then it fades... it was only your name, not you

And then it happens... You break the window and back into my life

Wildly and violently upsetting the new order of my life

Out with the new, and in with the old

Midway between my new heaven and your new hell... we find each other

A place undefined by distance and time

Native only to you and I, US.

In this place, I am you, and you are me

Lavish beyond my imagination

Only confined to the walls of the universe

Vows taken in jest as a first sign of a friendship anew

Edging away from that dark place and into my light is where our story ends... for now

It’s a Beautiful Poem, very poignant maybe because every word is dead right and it’s something we shared in a eternal moment in time. You know I still remember precisely how I felt when I realized it was really you. I cherish everything we ever shared together and i know we still have much more to append. truthfully i can hardly wait. Forever Yours Mwah!
