I am Florida

A Florida poem not about palm trees, beaches, manatees, or other 'typical' Florida poem stuff.

I am the hawk,

Riding the breeze,

Guarding the forest,

Watching the seas.

I am the bobcat,

Growling at night,

Guarding my young,

Be careful I bite.

I am the gator,

Hiding in steams,

Guarding the swamps,

With a grin that gleams.

I am the orange tree,

Soaking up sun,

Guarding my fruit,

Until they are done.

I am the car,

Speeding on by,

Guarding the roads,

From snowbirds gone by.

I am the traveler,

Just passing through,

Guarding knowledge,

I learned from you.

I am the native,

Helping each guest,

Guarding my home,

Florida’s the best.

Ha ha, Texas is better! Just kidding, don't hurt me, but anyways, I like the use of the setting to reveal the beauties of Florida. I want to visit that place during travel journies. I can't wait until I'm out of high school.

Anyways, wonderful job and I like the repetition use of "guard" to express the protection that Florida provides.
