My Beloved

My Beloved

A Poem by Pheladi Mashitisho

My Beloved

How handsome is my beloved
How lovely is my dear one
Like an apple amongst the thorns
Like a diamond amongst the rocks
So is my beloved amongst the sons of the Limpopo

He is the King
My heart is his kingdom
He is the ruler of my heart
Silky smooth chocolate skinned, tall adonis
How handsome is my beloved

His scent is the sweetest aroma to my nose
As sweet as honey to my mouth
His sight make my heart pound faster
My body shivers
And my mind freeze
How amazing is my beloved

Oh Come son of Moniccah
Come and kiss me with the kiss of you appetizing lips
Hold me in those strong arms
And never let me go

Let my head lay on your chest
And you wrap your arms around my body
Let your heart beat be the sweet melody in my ears
Let our hearts beat together in harmony
Oh how I love you My Beloved
