In My Time I'll Fly

In My Time I'll Fly

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

Be still my restless heart

As you lie within my breast

Don’t slip away in liquid time

  Until I rest my quest

Stay hushed and calm and still

   Within my tender, wounded cage

For inside a passion seethes

A broken heart blinded by its rage

Stones and staves and blades

   Sullied, bloodied by heartless sword

Yet still, a survivor never resting

As you wield your merciless words

When my echoed footsteps fall

I’ll trod quiet out of sight

From tree to tree with shelter found

Like a whisper heard at night

Thy pity did not dwell

  In remembering how I cried

In empty infinite, intimate spaces

You left a broken soul that died

But yet I stand, although my ravaged heart

   With secrets and tattered pieces

I proudly stand survivor still

   Until my pain it ceases...

                         Then....

               In my time I'll fly

Your delivery in this piece is superb. The emotion is raw and continues throughout which is what makes the whole poem so impressive.
