Should I Weep Or Should I Sleep

Should I Weep Or Should I Sleep

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

Now that love has gone and wandered

Leaving lips once hungry with desire

Tender remembrances of caresses past

To think on after love has passed

When our time was all but over

And hearts lie quiet in our breast

Where once our voices sang their chorus

It’s your unspoken words that now I hear

Thoughts of you I still remember

Of faded love that’s now deceased

Such infinite sorrow now I know

In an echoing silence of fallen tears

Should I weep or should I sleep?

Shadows weave their ghostly threads

In a restless heart that lies in quivers

Whispering anguished words that cry

Of faded skies and winding rivers

I ask the question as I cry

Did you hear a whispered story

That stole our glory from the sky

Leaving you empty and cold of heart?

I am haunted by evasive dreams

Feeding a hunger of remembered tears

Leaving my soul in passionate moods

Oh how I long for quietude

Should I weep or should I sleep?

This question lies in pain so deep

THIS BEGS!!! for arms enrapped so tight and light and sure... of tears being kissed in mourning morning hours and simple whispers echoing in tortured minds - whole lives through. Such a "Keepable" and yet - keep-able... you.
