Her heart wasn't very smart

Not so sure it ever was

Knowing when to stay or when to go

Before the heartaches start

 

Foolish as it seems

 

Waiting for the man she needs

Will he stay or will she go

Afraid she can’t fall in love again

Wanting to fly before she bleeds

 

She may get lost and lose her way

 

When she thinks of giving it another try

Making believe she has no tears

Wishing she had no fears or sorrow

Her heart just tells her “Walk on by”

 

Just spread your wings and fly away

 

Choosing to grieve by herself alone

Not wanting to break someone's heart

If you see her walking down the street

Her heart has unwillingly turned to stone
