I'm An Old Fashioned Girl ~And I'm Stayin' That Way

I'm An Old Fashioned Girl ~And I'm Stayin' That Way

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

I’m not a child  to have been born of this world.

I live my life counter clockwise to the cacophony of your society, where corporate rules and government make my head feel like its spinning.

Just because you say it’s supposed to be ,"So"!

Life steeped in modern traditions of many recent moons doesn’t necessarily make it 'So' for me.

Who do they think they are, to make all these rules

that are supposed to fit

   everyone like a useless, cheap pair of pantyhose, all wrinkled and brown, that says;

    “One size fits all”?

Don’t make me a victim of

   your bruised, stale thinking

I refuse to bow to the evils of your corporate

     chicanery, filled with

greed, sex, betrayal and

    deceit.

A system of lies, fraud and so called white collar crime.

Give me a blue collared man

who works and sweats, making his dollars the

    honest Hard working way.

I’ll never walk your yellow

    brick road to nowhere!

I’ll take my life sunny side up straight off the cuff !

Give me an old fashioned boy any ole’ day,

Cuz’ I’m an old fashioned girl and~ I’m stayin’ that way !

Now gimme’ back my lollipop!

Don’t make me a victim of Your bruised, stale thinking. I could relate to this and really enjoyed it. Looking at you I would have never though a revolutionary.....LOL a nice surprise. Art is change....

This had that serious edge, but in such a playful way. So wondrously said.. your stance to be who you are and not changing, no matter what!

That was cute, funny and full of so much brutal truth... traditions like rules are made to be broken as time change... when will man fully understand that man was created equal. To me women may be the stronger sex.

Thank you for the positive and hopeful poem. I like both photos. Kids allow us to keep hope and happiness alive in our heart and mind. I like the story and the very good ending. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
