Oh So Sweet

Oh So Sweet

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

She was always walking on ashes

from all  the bridges she'd burned.

Seemed like she was constantly trudging backwards from all the corners she'd turned

She felt tattered, she felt shattered

many times her heart cried in pain

She felt worn out from many years lived in vain

A woman who never really knew what her life would become

She ran right through it with many dreams left undone

She walked alone in her life for so many years.

She was just too afraid to allow anyone too near.

She walked through  a lot of dark valleys.

Many mountains she'd climbed.

She thought of giving up so many times

It was always so hard for her to put her thoughts into words

She knew what her heart said, but her sounds felt unheard

It took a long time for her to  find the strength of her voice

Finally,  she found the courage of her words to help her rejoice.

She's living her life in the sunset of her years~

Now when the rain falls, her eyes no longer fill with tears.

At long last, she found the sugar in the bottom of her cup

She'd never have found it......

        oh ~so sweet’~

                         If she had given up.

To love thy self is the first step to true happiness and the only way you can fully love another. Quite an inspiring poem.
