Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

I’m downhearted and blue now…

Since you and I are through

Walking down this “Lonely Avenue”

On the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"

All my memories are sad and blue…

Like a melody with a fractured theme

All the sidewalks...cracked and broken too

My sad heart cries for you in vain

I’m tired and lonely...

Like a butterfly caught in drizzling rain

Please don’t make this the final ending

You used to love me- is it all over now?

It’s not too late to do a little mending

Shadows walk beside me down ‘Lonely Avenue’

In the city of Heartaches and Sorrow

Everyone is sleeping but me and the moon

Don’t want to think this is the ending

Don’t want to think I was a clown

But in the end, the curtain‘s descending

And it and I… come falling, falling down

The night wind blows melancholy

My whole world is shattered

Now it waves it's sad, blue finale

Don't know where I'm going it seems...

Shadows are laughing in the night

As I walk all alone...

Down the lonely 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams'
