Vows Of The Valiant SeamenA Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne
The savage seas strike terror In the hearts of many a man Yet
bold and fierce - heads held high
The land… they pay not justice to Tis’ the sea, their servile empire lays On stately ships they live their lives The wild tumultuous sea their master is Throughout many a night and day
Seeking proud white-cliffed shores Like the Larus seagull, noble untamed and free They scorn the storms and brave the winds Of their mighty captn’…the beautiful, ravenous sea
And he who rides with banner proud As distant shores fade out of sight He stands fiercely loyal to the bitter end Braving the sea in vessel ships… Valiant seamen brave their vagrant gypsy life
With a fight at night of mast and spars They face the secrets of the sea But only those who brave its dangers Can understand her mystery
Oh ye’ mighty sailors brave… Raise all your proud heads sublime Ye’ brave heirs of God’s eternal gift… Weep not…for the sea is thine
