Strength and Honor

Strength and Honor

A Chapter by Lacy Sutton

Still filled with anger, pain, and panic, Kane rushed out of the house searching through the sea of vehicles for his carvette. Spotting it he got in and with a push of a hand made the other cars parked behind him move away clearing his path for take off. Once finally on the road he pulled his phone to call his dad. Hearing the buzzing stop before his dad got a word out to speak Kane told him about the situation. "Kylous, he took her , I tried to stop him but his power over me was much stronger then we anticipated. I'm sorry but time was fleeing and we couldn't wait for you to get here first. I think he is headed for the "compoud". I'm on my way there now." Kylous was pissed but instead of chastising him for his attempt at stopping Agrim, the aos si, he told him he knew he did his best and that his power and strength from his coming of age will soon be in full spirit before morning and that he'd meet him at the compound. "Have you spoken with your mother, Maline, she was with the queen later this evening? We must inform them of this at once. Last thing we need is for that malicous b*****d to take Gem for his own vendetta's against us."

With full speed as fast as the car would go he drove through the roads and countryside finally arriving to this old ran down and abondoned wharehouse. With small hope left he thought maybe he'd make it to Iyanna before it was too late. Just as he closed his car door instantly spotting Kylous, they heard loud screaming coming from inside the building. "Hurry we haven't much time and we need to get in their fast catching the mongrol off guard. You grab Gem and I'll handle Agrim." Kylous spoke quickly as they both ran in the door. Once, inside they heard another scream and it seemed to be coming from the next floor up just above him. "I can feel his presence, hes just above me if I move hard and fast enough up I can break through the cieling and catch him and bring him back down with me. Once you grab Gem take the elevator shaft back to the lower level and go out the back I'll meet you when I'm finished." Listening to Kylous he did exactly as he was told and they both made their moves. As soon as Kane got in the room he saw Kylous takeing down Agrim and he made his way freeing Iyanna following their plan. Using his newly found vision to see through the darkness he made their way to the elevator shaft. Quickly but softly while holding onto Iyanna not to hurt her he barreled down the wires making his way out the exit.

As they got into his car Iyanna tried to speak but her breathe fell short stopping her. "Please don't try and talk. You have lost alot of blood. You need every last bit of strenght you have left to survive and heal." Stareing at Kane she stopped trying to make a sound and fell into the darkness that had been pulling her down finally giving in. While asleep she had a dream of this beautiful woman with long silky burgendy hair and eyes that matched hers. She was elegent with soft features, clearly no older then the age of 40 maybe if that. The woman was holding her coddling her as a baby telling her a story of fairy's and princesses. She said she will be a princess one day like in the fairytales and maybe find her prince charming. The woman also told her that one day she will have another mother but not for long and that she will always love her and promised to give her a charm that symbolized her and that it will change her life; for now just rest my sweet baby girl and listen to my hums as you fall into blissful sleep. The next part of the dream was far more different. She saw the woman again but this time she had a steel cold look added to her features. Like something deep within her was dark and dangerous but how she was the portrait of an angel in heaven who should be sitting on a cloud playing the harp that matched her hum she sang. Then she saw Kane come into view sitting next to her at a round table with his head in his hands. She'd been fussing him saying he was just a child he knew nothing of what it meant to be like his father and if he kept up his attempts to try and pull out his powers and strength before his time it will consume him and turn him into a monster forcing her to make him like Agrim and he'd live in the dark and undergroud away from true life like everyone else. Only since his kind was much stronger and more powerful then an aos si his abilities would torment him to his death much faster.

Coming out of the dark dream Iyanna woke up in a room she had never been in before. She had no clue where she was or how she got there. Most of her memory was foggy so the pieces and bits she needed to put together of whats was happening had to wait for now. Looking around the room she thought maybe she is actually dead and not alive because this room was like something you'd see in a kingdom made up from gods. Gold and emerald green colors all over. A great big chandilier hung from the cieling with gold tracings on every stem and emerald sparkles lighting splashed like flakes first thick from the cieling then exploding the sprinkles as it made its way spiraling down the stock and gracefully falling subtlely and shiney on each stem reaching each light bulb. It was magical and looked as if a gust of strong wind would bring it crashing down to the floor because it seemed so danty and fragile. "Who'd want to clean up that disaster, worse who'd survive the clean up. The glass and debries from the stems left behind would be lethal to anyone even with padding on." Iyanna thought to herself looking up at the eighth wonder of the world. But the image panged her with a burning feeling in the back of her mind as if she's actually seen it before somewhere. Maybe a paris magazine but it was so fimilar yet she knew for a fact she never seen one in person. "Hm, strange maybe Mels mom showed us this before when they came back from Brazil. She was certainly the type who'd want something this extravogent hanging in her study/library to give it the bliss vibe. Who knows?!" Checking out the rest of the room she noticed each of the four floor to cieling windows had the same emerald curtains hanging with ivory rods filled with gold trim. Definitely a match for the room. Who ever designed it knew how to put the work of art together. The floor was made of marble, looking like slabs of pearl covering the entire room. She thought stepping on to it may shatter the whole thing. Noticing the vanity with a neatly connect ivory dresser she saw a small picture and some rock sitting on side of it. But the rock was held in some type of vile connected to a cold necklace. Engraved in the casings wall that held the rock read, "Happy 16th Birthday My Gem". "So this is a girl named Gems room and we have the same birthday that's cool, could be why she isn't here right now. Out with friends. I was out with friends to--" Her thoughts broke when she came to the realization of what was starting to surface back in her mind. "My friends, my parents, all those people, oh no that was all real. None of that was dream, all that really happend." Iyana said as she walked back to the bed. Crying from the panic and memories that all started racing back she began to get up and walk out the door when she saw Kane standing in the door way.

"Kane!" she yelled "What have you done to me and where am I? Last thing I remember was hearing you say something in the car about blood then every thing went blank. Why did that thing take me? He was going to kill me. He said my life meant more to him dead then alive, for my life was a key, a means to the end of a darkness war and I was the one to bring down the lives of the enemy sparing my own!" Confused, pissed, scared, angry with Kane, wondering about everyone else Iyanna fell to the floor with gasping sobs. She wanted to know what the meaning of all this was and why her life was so special. She was just some teenager trying to live a normal life and turn 16, celebrating with her friends. Nothing about her was special. "He grabbed the wrong girl, I'm not the weapon of fury and happiness or anything like that, I'm just me." Iyanna said still sobing but the gasping slowed now since she was finally getting her words out. Kane sat next to rubbing her shoulder in comfort. He knew she needed to know the truth of her life soon or she'd run from here for sure and actually become a weapon of fury and death. A weapon so powerful that it'd take the lives of thousands, destroying his kind and many others like it. She'd be a murder without knowing why and kill herself in the process. Kane knew what had to be done and that was to bring Iyanna to see her mother, The Queen.

After talking with Ky and some little practice while waiting for Iyanna to wake up he learned how to use his abilities better and how to harness each one singly. Using his ability to heal, he softly touched Iy's wounds leaving lights scars that eventually will completely go away. Using his ability to channel strength to another being, he placed both hands on her shoulders giving her new found balance and coordination. Using his powers to soothe, he lightly hugged Iy freeing her of dark worries. Finally bringing her back to somewhat of her self he told her that he had something to show her that would help better explain what was going on. Reluctantly but with not much of a choice seeing as how she didn't even know where she was she decided to go with him. "I know you have plenty of questions to ask but I don't have every answer to give you and some things you need to hear, you need to hear from Meg. She will shine some light for you in this darkness. She's the only one who has the whole truth to give to you. After all she is the queen of this kingdom of Honor." Said Kane as he lead her down what seemed like 12 flieghts of stares and 10 different yet similar hallways that now had her feeling so turned around making her head spin. Finally they arrived to a set of huge doors that looked like they were made of pure emerald with gold hinges traced with ivory along the trim. The handles were surpent shaped that met in the middle for opening. Holding a fang on one of the surpents Kane opened the door and led Iyanna in.
