Not exactly sweet 16

Not exactly sweet 16

A Chapter by Lacy Sutton

Saturday morning, May 16, finally arrived and an excited birthday girl woke up with an extra spring in her step. Iyanna took no time showering and getting ready that morning for she was sure her parents had a breakfast buffet made up for her ready to be devoured. She first called Melony to invite her over to help eat every last bite of the mounds of amazing fluffy waffles and pancakes but she didn't answer the phone. "Hm must still be sleeping, it is just after eight after all and shes a late sleeper." Iyanna said to herself as she walked out of her room. Reaching the last few steps of the spiraling staircase she didn't even get the wonderful smells of a glorious breakfast in fact she didn't even smell coffee freshly brewed. She also noticed her parents were not down stairs either. So like a kid on christmas morning she decided she'd go up to their room and wake them up so they can enjoy the morning together. Too her sad sudden surprise her parents were not in their beds. "My parents are not even here, and its my birthday morning, and not just any old birthday its my sweet 16. What the hell!?" She yelled walking out the room slamming he door behind her. Walking pissed off down the hall and stairs stomping louder and louder with ever step she began to cry. "My parents forgot again that it was my birthday. Third year in a row and they left without even saying goodbye this morning. What did I do wrong. I just wanted someone to be there with me for once. My best friend is sleeping and my parents are gone, I'm alone in this world on this day once again throwing another birthday pitty party for myself." Iyanna said through her sobs. For a few more minutes she let herself cry because she was yet again let down during an important event for her by her parents. It was like they recently were more worried about my protection then my actual feelings. I wonder if they even think about how I feel anymore, heck they do not even question my where abouts much anymore either. Come to think of it I feel like they havent been around must lately, like I don't see them when Im home anymore. Their damn jobs was always first on the list of important things to worry about. Forget about their one and only child; their one and only baby girl!"

After the water works stopped she hear her phone ring and quickly she answered. "HAPPY SWEET 16" Yelled Melony on the other end. "How was breakfast? Did you get a new car? Is it fast? I bet your parents had the whole kitchen done up with a wide spread of food waiting for you." Thinking back to how the morning start she felt the tears start up again but faught them back not wanting Mel to hear that that wasnt exactly how it all went down so instead she told a little white lie. "It was awesome and so delicious, I called you to come bask in the glory with me but you were still asleep. My parents are out car shopping as we speak, Im hoping for a mustang or camero. A girl can dream right?" Agreeing with her Mel told Iyanna she was getting dressed and coming over. Melony was taking Iy out shopping and pampering so she could look fresh and hot in her outfit for her party tonight. If theres even a party. Her parents didnt exactly give her the green light to have one nor did they say no. Not wanting to piss them off she told Mel that she'd rather just hang with her friends and have fun. Maybe go out or something. Mel decided a royal sleepover would be great. She'll give her house the full makeover works. Changing it from modern swank to a palace that only Queen Ann her self would relish in with golds and greens every bit as amazing as the Bolyns had it. They were even going to dress the part just for the fun of it. "Who doesn't want to feel or look like a queen on her birthday especial the big S.16?!!?" Mel said as they got the last bit of the final preperations done in the house that now looks like a palace.

6 o clock finally made it and just before everyone started to show up Mel had gotten a phone call from her uncle. He had ask for the two to meet him at the station and informed that of the important news he had for them. So quickly they headed of to his office. "Iyanna have you spoken to or seen your parents today? We got a call in from a civilian about an accident and the description of the car and it's plates seemed to be a perfect match for your parents. I how ever was able to get in touch with your father. He said they were at the near by hospital at their newest office location. He informed me that their were no serious injuries and that they were being discharged from the hospital and on the way home in a rental. I just wanted to let you know. Your father said he saw something in the road and dodged hitting the side of bridge when he hydroplaned. He also said whatever was in the road was also gone when they got out of the car to see what he thought surely he had hit." With an in shock but relieved hug she thanked sheriff whitt. Walking out of the building they saw this huge gold carriege with two beautiful white horses leading it just at the bottom of the steps. "WTH" Yelled both girls who danced with excitement. "Mel told me about the party she arranged for your sweet sixteen and I thought I could make it more magical for you, after all your like a second niece to me. Happy Birthday Queen Iyanna, your chariot awaits." Leading the girls to the magical ride he waved them by wishing them a night of their life.
