BulldogA Poem by Lacuna BadtzFor My Grandpa
An empty beach fears no tidal waves.
You would watch the ocean pull back it's pride then grace your feet with sun kissed love. "Wade in me" it would plead. you would never deny a friend. Hard to the core, you are so tough, but that smile makes your bulldog a puppy again. Tongue hanging out of your mouth. On all four limbs, you crawl, sniffing around for something new, but always there when I call. A lap to always rest upon. A laugh when I least expect it. No one can ever beat your swagger. No one can outlast you in a race of love. I cling to you like Velcro. I keep myself far out of reach. I can't stand to see your face drowning in sorrow. I can't watch your moments pass us all by. © 2014 Lacuna BadtzAuthor's Note
