Let Go

Letting Go

I bury my arms in ignorant  tombs

so that they do not reach out for you.

Could you simply call my name?

Occupy my trembling lips.

My mind rolls softly through fantasies

In sweeter times, when it was just you and me.

Could we ever be the same?

Scratch my name off of your list.

I know it’s poison, but it feels like rain.

I’m arrid and awaiting your storm again.

                                To keep me up all night

                                or replace you in my mind.                          

Capture this moment and let it go,

learn to smile when I’m all alone;

                                finally do what feels right.                           

     Place some purpse in my time.

did you mean "purpose" in the last line?

again, a powerful piece of writing, but that submissive, i'll put up with anything to keep you so i won't be alone.

Only this time i see a transition within the poem...she is getting stronger...speaking of herself in third person....pulling away from him, feeling she can be okay on her own...can learn to smile.

you are an interesting poet...reminds me much of sexton, plath, levertov and others of the confessional genre.
