Slit the Skin, Etched In Flesh

Slit the Skin, Etched In Flesh

A Poem by Lacey... Just Lacey

Slit the Skin,

Etched in flesh

Throw me away like a broken doll,

Broken again, never let me fall.

Actions cut deeper,

Ease the heart with love and regret.

Slit the skin,

Etched in flesh

Lay me down to die

Like a superficial lie

Tears go dry,

Hearts go numb to ease the pain

Slit the skin,

Etched in flesh

Forgive my broken soul,

Just slit my wrist and say goodbye.

Forgive me love,

I was blind by the way of that awful lie.

Slit the skin,

Etched in flesh

You’ll never love me

If you can’t see me
