Masquerade Dreams

Masquerade Dreams

A Poem by Lacey... Just Lacey

The string band played as guest danced
Mask were all around, hiding faces of strangers, friends and enemies
Every one cheers, smiled, and moved with the music.

The band also in mask enjoyed the faces of the mask
Many beautiful mask were seen shining and glowing as people spun
No one knew who you were so your lies were safe
Creatures human and non human danced as the night grew on

The mask glided together as they moved across the grand ball room
A girl with a deadly secret danced with a beautiful stranger
She smiled at him as he danced with her
She wished she could know who he was but she knew she never would

The dance went on all night long, dancing, and laughing, and beautiful music
Dawn had come and everyone was going home, she looked up at him as he kissed on the lips
She smiled when he left, never wanting to forget that kiss
The doors were wide open and the sun was shining in
The sun hit her face and she closed her eyes and then she woke
Kissing that dream good bye.
