Twitching buttons of volume

Twitching buttons of volume

A Poem by Delilah

If only my music could swallow me whole
So I could turn to nothing and disappear,
Floating on the uneven beats and soporific bass line
All my problems would have vanished.
Moved onto another soul, another heart beating the same monotonous tune
I'd have no need to release the curtain of hair over my face
No reason to bite my tongue nor speak my words
Why would we?
And there'd be so many of us too.
Fighting the currents of sound
Before letting go finally to realise that it didn't matter.

Nothing mattered.
Not while I have my finger tip twitching over the volume buttons.

The expression "Getting lost in the music" is well expressed here.
