Broken VoiceBox

Broken VoiceBox

A Poem by Runa

To sit in a corner undisturbed to be quiet to the world

to not know how to speak or scream

Sitting inside the spaces of my mind

This is the only place I now find kind

No longer can I speak the words I want to say

no longer at night can I ask you to stay

I can't scream your name when you're gone

I've wished to say those three words for so long

The melodies that use to be I can not sing

For only small grunts and whines can my voice bring

The lovely lullabies that covered my screams

they could only now be found in my deepest dreams

A lifeless broken shell is where now I lay

my story is done I have no more to say

I've fought but now I can not talk

Now it's just my dark mind and my broken voicebox

Again I fully admit grammar is not my forte. ~chuckling~
Still can't diagram a simple sentence to save my life. :-)

But this piece is exceptionally sorrowful. The flow of your words easily immerses the reader into a dark recess. Almost like you're vying for light, but you can't get out. Caught. Helpless. Trapped. Broken.
Your imagery here is exquisite. Painfully sharp and crystal clear.
