Waiting

Waiting

A Story by Runa

I'm a huge vampire freak so I wrote a short story.....

"
All was silent as the cold wind swept over the land like ravaging wolves. The winter snow fell lightly from the sky as it covered everything in its' mist. Broken trees swayed slowly as bitter cold howled at them. In the middle of a field the wind danced with the snow, bringing it off the ground before setting back down to earth. In the middle of the frozen field a lone figure stood, their head bent down to the ground. Wisps of hair play around their face wildly.

He has no name, no past. No one knows who he is, or where he came from. He's a mysterious one, distant from the loud world around him. Pale skin turn slightly pink as the air hits him with an cold gust, yet he still stands strong. Blond hair shines off of the setting sun as it twists with the wind, its' shadow making different shapes. He lifts his head up slightly, his eyes fully alert. Eyes as blue as ice stared forward, anticipating.

Waiting, he had been waiting for so long, his heart longed to see what he had been waiting for. It was a day like this, except darkness had taken the sky away. He had been in this very same field, laying in the snow as it covered him lightly. That's when he saw, that beautiful creature that had been haunting his every nightmare and dreams since then. He couldn't believe it, he thought maybe he had frozen to death. He knew the siren was real though, after he heard her voice. A cool voice that sent shivers up his spine.

"Would you like to come with me?"

Blue eyes had stared at her as she stood over him. Her dark colored skin flickered under the shine of the full moon as she circle around him. A curtain of black fell to her shoulders as she leaned forward to him. Yet he couldn't see her eyes, oh how he wished to see those beautiful eyes of hers. She smiled sweetly as she leaned back and took a step back, in a blink of his blue eyes she was gone. Yet in the air her voice lingered, it called to him.

"I'll wait."

A puff of air came from his mouth as he let out a shaky breath. She was the reason he was here, she was the reason he was standing in the bitter cold. He wanted to see her-no, he needed to see her again. He turned his head towards the sky, it was painted with shades of dark blue. He had been waiting for days to see her again, he hoped this was the night.

Eyelashes fluttered as icy blue eyes closed, he took a deep breath. He listened as the dead trees moaned and the wind wisped around him. A gasp of surprise came from his lips as a frigid shiver went up his spine. Blue eyes shot opened as he gasped for breath, his Adam's apple moved up and down as he caught his breath. His pale arms wrapped themselves around his body which shivered uncontrollably.

"Would you like to come with me?"

Blue orbs widened as he heard that sweet voice. He swung around and stopped, a mix of emotions were in his eyes. Love, hate, sadness, confusion, lust. Slowly his feet moved through the white, untouched snow; new tracks forming as he went. He stopped two feet in front of her, he opened his mouth slightly. The wind seemed to stop and the land went silent.

"Yes."

A smirk appeared on her face at his answer. She slowly strode over to him, her movements graceful and elegant. The snow crunched under her shoes as she looked up at him, she heard him let out a soft gasp. Icy blue met golden brown as the two stared at each other. Slowly slender hands wraped around his neck as his hands wraped around her waist. The two stood there in each others arms, silent as the moon above them.

She stepped onto her toes and placed her lips on his neck, light kisses burn his skin like raging fires. Her grip around his neck tightened but she never stops the attack on his flawless pale skin. She felt the vibrations in his throat as he tilted his head back in bliss. She stoped suddenly and placed her black lips on his throat. Ever so slowly she opens her mouth, fangs grazing against his vein; eyes lifted up to the moon, they flickered a devilish glowing yellow. She puts her lips to his ear, whispering dangerous words.

"I've been waiting for you."
