Morality and DeceptionA Poem by La Belle MusicalA poem seeking harsh critic and a harsher reality check.Often kept in plain sight, Rarely glimpsed by those who look, Corruption takes hold of the weak. The weaker yet hold on tight, Gripping onto the underbellies of the stronger, Never suspecting they feed on flaws. Flaws keep them afloat and mighty, Even as the rest of the world crumbles. Money may buy happiness, But it will never buy the truth. Those who think themselves right Often miss what is mistaken; And those who crave the games Never suspect they are being cheated. One great joke deserves another - Pass over the laws and let’s have a laugh As all the lesser, the weaker and the more naive Look upon us with admiration. Let us have some fun. © 2008 La Belle MusicalAuthor's Note
