Cursed to Live

Cursed to Live

A Poem by L.M.Warde
"

An elderly man resents the God of his faith for taking his beloved away and leaving him to survive her. He loves her completely and misses her deeply, but can't hope to see brightness anymore.

"

Still I feel the wind,

It churned between us in our embrace

This mustn't be the end.

How could you steal from me my grace.

I feel her gentle hands

and still see her forgiving smile

But I am lost now in foreign lands

Cursed to linger for a while.

You've robbed from me my only love

See now the shell I have become

She is the soul I have been stripped of

Without her, into darkness I succumb

In this world into which I'm cast

I am lost and miserably incomplete

Until I should perish at long last

I pray to God we once again should meet.
