ConsumedA Poem by L.M.Warde
Darkness lurks within this soul,
its dull, wide teeth gnashing at my bones Soon it will have swallowed me whole It would take you too, I must go alone Its eyes are piercing, the armor hard, I fear I can't contain it, nor set it free I know it's stronger than my guard, Biting, chewing, consuming every part of me These seasons once so full of love, are covered now by sheets of blood It will wear my carcass like a mask or glove This blackness inside as thick as mud No way to shake it, no place to hide I can't escape the gnashing, snapping, grinding sound Before you know it, I'll long have died, Eaten alive by my own hell hound Replaced by something cold and cruel, I cannot hear you, not anymore I'll break and use you like a tool, my dark insides have shut the door © 2013 L.M.WardeAuthor's Note
