Beyond Stars

Gaze up once for me,
Into the star lit sky
Eyes opening to see,
my world from the other side

Stretching out through dust and darkness,
beyond the phantom glow
Past the stars and comets,
I live in the unknown

This, place where I love and dream,
though not unlike your own
It is still an ancient living thing
this planet is my home

I look out past a star dust night,
at a world far from my own
I feel you peering through the lights,
but how could you have known

Author's Note

I was asked once to write a poem about something extra planetary. This was what came to mind. It's a simple piece with not as much meaning as my others I feel, tell me what you think.
