Under The WillowA Poem by L.M.Warde
I look out to a world beyond my own,
beneath my willow tree All through life I've been alone, Hoping to someday be free So many years dancing through wondrous dreams, A completeness I could never know Places beyond my comprehension it seems, the worlds to which I cannot go I am alone beneath my willow tree My life is fading, my heart may be ready I've only ever wanted to be so free Emancipation, my only remedy Fingers shaking, I'm weak and the sun is bright My refuge is here in the shadows of the leaves My body feels heavy soaked in the light I wish beyond words to have found beliefs My breathing shallows My thoughts, distant and deep I must go to my gallows Freedom takes me as I fall away into sleep © 2013 L.M.WardeAuthor's Note
