Beauty and the Beast

She’s the Belle of the ball

Thinks she can fix him

Nose in a book

Imagines herself a princess in a castle

Ready for a curse and a battle

But there is no curse, that’s just who he is

What she doesn’t realize is

That love might save a Beast on the pages of a book, mending all the gashes

But reality distorts when looked at through rose colored glasses

She thinks she can fix him

That he’s not what he seems

But the flowers he gave her

Wilt in their vase

His promises as empty as his glass

And his embrace

It’s a tale as old as time

But all tales must come to an end

And so must theirs
