Fair and Balanced IndeedA Poem by LUCIDMUSICClever claims Of neutrality Speaking to a world that’s gone insane War is not a game But one played in a torn nation that I was
told One September would never be the same Patriots born from tragedy All it took was innocent lives to make
them defend its name Speak to hyperbole and gift wrap
propaganda, call it the news Where does one draw the line between
the truth and a view? Belligerent bull s**t, seasoned with
the flavor of misguided purpose Ringmaster to a 24/7 circus We call home, losing the bravest of
the brave to service Only to tell them thanks but don’t
deserve to be happy Forget the circumstances, his word is
the verdict Patronize people with pomposity and a
pretense of ’patriotism’ that’s false Played like peer pressure political
pundits are never at fault Clean hands like Pontius it’s yours to
bear Rose scented s**t guilt for you to
wear You didn’t light the match You just dumped the gas So, High and mighty, proud and caring until
election time and you lose Now it’s your ideology that’s being
beaten blue and bruised Play the part of the victim, the
accused Gloves come off and any tactic you
crucified when used Is now excused Because it’s you I was Un-American when I spoke my mind
about the laws he broke Now you call his replacement a
socialist when he ran a campaign on hope? And all of the sudden like it’s
nothing That makes you more of a patriot than
me? You’re a Christian and push hatred
from sea to shining sea What you fail to realize is you’re
perpetuating the problems Keeping us down The hand once bitten on the back of
our head help us drown The foot that continues to trip is up That has enabled the system to remain
corrupt Playing one card one year you crucify
it the next Give none but expect respect I forgive their ignorance But not the arrogance Make the dots connect © 2011 LUCIDMUSICAuthor's Note
