I’m inspired by thoughts of revolution

And a change in the guard

Party lines being erased

Crooked cops and politicians behind bars

The death of old mindframes

The system flipping on its head

Walls of the box broken down

No one believing the bull s**t that they’re fed

The start of a new chapter

Turning of another page

The power in the people’s voice

Standing together, tall to make a change

Those responsible under a spot light

Alone with a microphone on stage

No place to run or hide

Forced to explain their ways

Hope found in the future

The pure light of a better day

The thought that life is more than war

Maybe this was just a phase

The fiery drive I feel inside

Knowing nothing putting out that flame

The loss of a leader

That has left our history stained

The public finally coming together

Even if it took lives lost in 2 towers and 3 planes

Our priorities filed properly

Even though things will never be the same

Common sense realized your legacy is more than your last name

A public that cares more about something besides fame

Good advice not falling on deaf ears

Eyes that won’t stay blind

Free thinkers in a position of power

Not shot down in their prime

Rain washing away the world’s sins

So we can all start over new

A government not dictating

What we can and can’t do

A worth while story shown

On the six o’clock news

The simple beauties in the world

Finding love that’s true

An independent nation

Liberty defined by more than a statue

The television turned off

A society seeking the truth

The promise of a better tomorrow
