FREEDOM IS NOT FREE

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE

A Poem by Tshediso

Arise now consolation unto
population,
My fellow Africans bleed in
need of seed,
Trying to feed their kids in
struggle,
Yet so forced to believe they
are free.

Freedom Came in at a greater
price,
Hard to be defined yet not
refined,
Freedom could not save my
people,
They had to be slaved under
its name.

Implement it I shalt not
compliment,
In distress I feel greatly
compressed,
Not so impressed to articulate
better words,
Freedom is not free.

Freedom erace atrocity for my
felicity,
The day I shalt smile to walk a
mile,
The day I shalt be what I am in
my land,
I shalt then be free.

When all blacks will lead in
their land,
When hunger and anger shall
no more strike,
I will strive to push and learn
to appreciate,
And only then will freedom be
free.
