Fugitive

Fugitive

A Poem by LScottD
"

Just more autobiographical ramblings from a life misspent

"
Bridge-

On my bridge again
I see my city through opium eyes
Through the fog
Where have you gone?

Once a lover
Promising warm embrace
And unknown pleasures
But whilst on the nod you slipped away
Never to return
Only to be replaced by a surly knife weilding w***e

I once was king
Now a ghost
Banished to wander
These lonely twilight hills
Remembering nights gone by

But now the hour is near
And you my beloved bridge
Once the golden gate to heaven
Once the road home
Now merely a means to an end...

but first...

one last fix.............

This is harsh, and so lonely. Built a strong image in my mind. A really strong way to end it, that last stanza built it right up. Well written
