Cocoon

Cocoon

A Poem by Luke Rawlings

Roaring
Like the fire’s embers bursting into the air; ever consuming.
Like the ocean’s tide crawling up the land’s back; ever consuming.
Like the miracle of life settling on every field; ever consuming.

Buried under our own sin; the herald of our rebirth.
The uroboros is never sated.
Venom burns the ground that we build upon.

A touch, a smile.
An amusing thought, pondered awhile.
A whisper, a tear.
A material memory, something held dear.
A caress, a glance,
Across the ground, euphoria’s prance.

Beginnings, suffering, complaints..
                What do you see?

I see beauty through the tall, relinquished and mocked world. Your words hit it head on. Nice flow with a symbolic break down of beauty, though short lived and leaving a question of mere existence. Good piece.

This is stunning. The visuals are remarkable. The first stanza brought me immediately to attention. Brilliant write, dear.
