A Night Not To RememberA Poem by Juley Schmidtlike it says i night not to remmeber D:The night was so young, Flittering my heart with the anticipation of your arrival, The moon was smiling in the favor of the fire to begin, Burning the past away so I could make room for the untold future, Tell me again the words I long to hear, Tell me that everything is going to be ok and that I’m doing the right thing, You say yes to me, That smile of yours assures me that you’re telling me the truth, Burning away of the forgotten past, Opening the door to the future, Why do you stare into my eyes as if you’re worried? Did I do something wrong, Never mind it, The night is still young enough to find out later, Majestic light beams into my eyes speaking to me and telling me to let go, A story starts and a tale ends here, Arising the moon so high yet still, I didn’t think that the moon could reach such a vertical, The stars as well are greeting the moons presence, I press on into the night holding your hand to keep me from drifting in to a never ending sleep, I awake to you face, Did I fall asleep? I never meant for this night to end so swiftly, It seems as it never happened, It seemed as if it was a dream. © 2010 Juley SchmidtAuthor's Note
