![]() Wreckless Train of ThoughtA Poem by Lola NationWhen that big ship comes in, You know, when my tax refund hits the bank, I’m on the highway again crossing Denver, Las Vegas all the way to that big blue mighty ocean and I’m looking just for one thing So, where’d you go this time? It’s kind of funny, I know (with all heart and soul) You’re still watching me, each web and each word I weave So, why won’t you come out and play Danny boy, where did you go? Did they get too close to home again The pisas, the twins, the spun out on Daytons Spin-spinning-round away? Where are they, where did they push you to go this time? Retreating into that chaotic electric hum of machinery? That bygone, be gone remote area only you could hide, behind locked doors, steel screens, behind smirks, clove cigarette contra-band and bedeviled masks? Only you? and what what what about me? I am coming home Oh so soon-er than planned and you aren’t anywhere to be found Fox holes and rabbits, f**k the hat tricks…you, you jerk you, you prick it’s you Yeah, there were other words in between There were miles too many but really it meant nothing Fill that empty space for me again Please, please, please I dream and wake in thoughts of you wondering how far you really might be Oh, I don’t ask anymore I don’t lead myself on but I know, there’s a bond Maybe broken, maybe tarnished but oh so much more than the rest I was there and you wanted me to be delusional. So why not now... Sleep deprived I’ll pace that floor and at one pivot I’ll bump right into you I just Know it. © 2010 Lola NationReviews
