Catch Up GirlA Poem by Lola NationI got raise for giving this to my boss a few years ago...I'm
sick of living in a catch up world I'm sick of taking your Lexus to the dealer for service in between your high brow exclusive club meetings Sick of the way a mechanic in a tie Looks down on me while exchanging greetings I want a high powered suit And a luxury car of my own I'm sick of not having enough rent or a place I call my home I'm sick of waiting till Christmas For a few thousand dollar bonus That only gets used to pay bills Because some collector keeps reminding me, "You've missed payments" I'm sick of taking care of you Making sure you're out the door In order to get home for your family dinner While I stay late working Spring, Summer, fall and winter I'm sick of rearranging my life Just so your wife Can sleep comfortably at night I hope you accept this poem As a demand for a raise If not, consider it a resignation I want money, not anymore praise! © 2010 Lola NationAuthor's Note
