Tightrope

Tightrope

A Poem by LMacbeth
"

One moment in a day when the feelings of the loss of my son came over me, I felt this way.

"

Walking this thin string over the pit of death
Swaying in the wind.
Safety net is gone and has left me praying for a calm
Unsure of what is waiting for me at the end.
I cannot travel backwards because nothing is there for me.
So I carefully walk forwards into the dark
Praying that my safety net will return to catch me if I fall.

Ignore grammar issues are you crazy? LOL Anyway I love your metaphor for a higher power in the "safety net". I know how our mind can be so weary that we seem far from it. Thankfully it is always present in our darkest nights. Well done. Tragic. My view is that when loved ones leave early, they are needed more elsewhere beacause of the gifts they have to give through all eternity. And their presence and love is never absent.
