cover it upA Poem by LMWriteslove and liesI Can admit to being Selfish and I Know in my heart of Hearts that the right thing Is in front of me Yet I close these eyes I hold you close and have The nerve to sympathize your Plight Though it isn’t fair or" Or right But when I look at You, I cry and Through these oceans I see the best of me In you but I wish to tell you what hurts And I cannot Because to do this is to Hurt you instead so I cover it up with Makeup And flat iron my hair To pretty the lies and ugly honesty That wants to burst Inside of me. I love you, and to Admit this is to dishonor that Ugly pride that lives in me And to dirty my hands is to Dirty what’s right and When you peel off the skin You’ll see the barest part of Me and I admit this verse Has saved me
