The Memphis Flash.A Poem by LMWolfA poem about my hero; Elvis Presley. Taking care of business in a flash!
Did you hear the news
though the black and white static? A new Phenomenon has broken loose something new from mundane, something so dramatic Hard times have fallen upon us, so hard infact no one realizes, or looks past the far side of the white picket fence beginning to rust and the future is dangerously ready to hypnotize. Our super hero has arrived to save the young. To open our eyes, see past the lies to a new song that has never been sung say goodbye. With jet black hair and shadowed sapphire eyes he shakes the 50's bare everyone asks as he passes by. Who would of thought a poor boy from the bible belt was birthed to become youth's savior and sing what was not heard but felt. Girls were brain-washed into believing that at home was where they would stay and boys told they needed to go to war to be men but he came through and unconsciously changed our ways ways that the ignorant tried so hard to defend. He set forth a movement awakening the masses into his armies of improvement stirring the caked up gasses. With only a guitar, song and voice from the sky he made girls scream his name and the conservative mothers of the nation cry and shook the foundation of fame. Boys began to grow their hair break the barrier and dress in bright colors like him trucker curls and duck tails begun to tear. tear away at the border of the 50's that was wearing so thin. He planted his seed into the nation impregnate the old age with the new and from Northern City to Southern plantation he made a few enemies along the way to. Through years and years later he can still be seen and heard every aspect of modern music bares his finger print and to say you don't care about him would be absurd he took everything from that black and white to a color tint. and all the things, all the styles he mashed. It's all thanks to the Memphis Flash. © 2010 LMWolf |
