earthA Poem by L.L PriceInspired by a past moment.
there are not enough words in all of the languages, forgotten or remolded, to describe how terribly I miss you. There are no terrains or oceans or universes i would not travel if it meant that i could be near you again; you were a sun, your skin always burning, dark & warm like the eyes of cats. i had foreseen an eternity of your heat; i had imagined a world with humid jungles of deep greens vibrant & smothering; your hands always mapping the moonlit sands of my body, never stopping never ceasing for i am an eternal beach. i remember the stars folding over our bodies, vulnerable & exposed on that mountain. & the synthetic softness of your blanket underneath my shoulder blades. the air tasted of ice & left our skin chilled & we trembled; the feel of you left my senses prickled like wolves sensing rabbits. your breath rose before me like wet clouds, heart beating fierce & wild against my own & when you were me i smelled the musk of the moss & the trees were tall & smelled like dirt & pine & the stars rained their dust upon us & i looked at you & my eyes cried oceans; when i became a part of you, i became the earth too.
