Thirty GrainsA Poem by LKang
“30 Grains”
Your snow globes shining brightly That you put together yourself Father Time enchanted the warping glass Then put it back on the shelf “Count up all the sand”""" Father said “your eyes won’t strain.” When you count them one by one You’ve counted 30 grains. Hold them to your eyeballs They shine like the greatest steel. And men with wisdom falter When they see the grains are real They said they’d buy them from you. "" You search inside your brain To see if you feel like giving up Your only 30 grains Men line up outside To see your snow globes here You see the line is way too long And more people start to appear You start to wonder""- If there is something really to be gained From selling off to charity your only 30 grains. You find a buyer that pays A great sum off their fortune He drops the gold right in front of you He talks like you’re important Hand your thirty grains with pride""- Your buyer’s gold that he attained From a pillage just west of here From the latest campaign © 2018 LKangAuthor's Note
