The Addiction

The Addiction

A Poem by Irresistaby Irish
"

Written Feb. 27, 2006. This poem was written for someone who meant a great deal to me. He opened my eyes and made me who I am. Even though you are gone, I will always love you, Dean!

"

My mind is drifting
Rationality now lost
To possess your heart
How high is the cost
Piercing, breaking, stabbing
Each time you touch my face
I run to win
Though I've already lost this race
An addiction, a passion
Stronger than I've ever known
I burn to hold you
And never let go
Two beautiful nights in your arms
Two sweet mornings waking to your face
Power and magick in your words
A truth somehow I just can't place
Eyes of blue
Green and gold
Beauty to make
The universe unfold
You were created
For pain and pleasure
A glorious spirit
Such passion I treasure
Your smile must make
Every goddess bow
The deities of old
Here to worship you now
No mere mortal
No weak-minded man
Could so easily take my soul
In the palm of his hand
At the sweet memory
Of your sensual kiss
A passion ignites
That can't be quenched
Mind struggles against heart
Body trembles with violence
And so it seems my fate
To dream and reminisce
I can't understand what's in your eyes
Every time you look at me
As if you are the one with the addiction
That simply will not cease
