On the List
A Story by LJ
for FFM 2024, Day 2 - Challenge
She wore a homburg and frock coat suitable for crepuscular activities, or the diluculum part of the day, because the color of a dead fish seemed appropriate. Bright clothes discouraged criminal activity and her plan was to engage in it. It was a shame her crisp white shirt glowed in that light, making her furtive movements match those of the rare lucidus-breasted gray heron. Birders from around the world used binoculars to watch the supposed heron, really just a girl, creep along the lakeside. They whispered to each other, "Outstanding! We'll never spot this beautiful bird again! It's nearly criminal."

This 100-word flash fiction is for FFM Day 2, 2024.
Challenges met = element 1: it's a "drabble" - element 2: it's centered on the color of some dead fish - optional element: at this time it's my least favorite color.
