when sad(ness) arrives

when sad(ness) arrives

A Poem by LJ
"

the title is pretty clear

"

Sometimes, sad takes over,

that side where a glitter is only

a reflection of ice-slow thought,

or a look at eyes

when they don’t filter pain,

useless outrage outliving use,

a drop into mute acceptance

of misery, loss...

when both the loveless

and the over-loved are leveled

the way a harvesting machine

turns gold to leaden dirt,

growth curtailed, nutrients curdled,

difficult, dammed, driven

like wildfire with its huge sigh...

Sometimes, sad takes over,

and it can be a side so wide

it turns away,

doesn’t even notice

that you stand there,

everywhere, every time,

and you notice every thing,

and offer joy

This is one of those pieces that connects direct to the heart, as if someone is trying to say something through it. The choice of words, way to pour the emotions out, feelings flowing through the stanzas are just so amazing. Well about sadness, i perceive it just like a gloomy morning. It comes, shows us its colors and went back but it does come again like a part of our lives.
Wonderful poem LJ.
Much love,

The metaphors and imagery here are magical and vibrant. This poem feels like an after party in a way, quiet, dark and so much to ponder about. I particularly liked the last few lines. ‘ doesn’t even notice that you stand there, everywhere, every time, and you notice every thing,
and offer joy’. This is such an amazing line and wonderful way to end of the poem. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderfully vivid poem!

Your images are so vivid; this is a painful poem in the sense that you speak of decay in so many personal ways, age, love, slow thoughts, spark less ones, acceptance as a matter of fact, without exuberance; I like the stanza:"Sometimes sad takes over....doesn't even notice that you stand there"....
A really fine write LJ
