I Should Scream This At You

I Should Scream This At You

A Poem by Ally

im not quite tired enough
to give this up yet.
there is no rehab clinic
for the feel of your warmth
leaving my bones.
are you happy with yourself? with

 what you’ve become?

Is this what you want?

or are you just
scared
of facing things, of feeling
all that you could just
ignore.
you dont want to care for
the garden so you start
pulling out the flowers.
every petal
one
by
one.
replacing them with glazed plastic
you dont have to tend to.
but those petals hold your secrets
as they float away into the air.
they will continue to feel you
long after youve turned that off, too.
so encase your heart in plastic
but that will only lessen the beat;
it cant stop it. it wont stop it.
so why wont you?

why wont you just stop this?
