My God is a Blind Man

My God is a Blind Man

A Poem by Ally

my god is a blind man.
he does not see
the clothes we wear,
or the color of our skin.
he does not see
whom it is we love,
only that we have loved
and were loved in return.
he does not see
our deaths, our hate, our blood
he only feels the pain
of our suffering souls.
he does not see
our churches or temples
our silly congregations
he only hears our prayers
said alone and under our breaths.
he does not see
himself, what he looks like
what race he is
nor does he see
the pictures you paint of him.
so if you said to me,
"god is always watching."
id look you in the eyes and respond
"god does not need to see,
as we do not need to see god.
he feels you, hears you, holds you
in calm winds or the arms of another.
my god does not judge, only believes.
my god is a blind man.

I love this poem. It reflects what I perceive as what a God would be, if I believed in a specific God.

I like it. A very easy read for a very powerful subject...I mean, who is god...and does it really matter?
