L'Chiam

L'Chiam

A Poem by Ally
"

To Life.

"

I live for mended hearts.

For the finding of lost souls.

For the darkest nights

Leading into the brightest days.

I live for smiling faces.

In beauty, and joy, and celebration.

For the softening of an eye’s harsh light.

I live for his laugh.

His eyes in sunlight,

His voice cutting through dark.

His body against my own.

I live for their hugs.

For their thoughts, their love

Their undying faith in me.

I live for summer and winter,

For spring and fall.

I live for change

And for everything staying the same.

I live for hope.

For the feeling that everything is perfect,

Or that someday it might be.

I live for you.

Your eyes on these words

Likes your hands on my heart.

I live for life.

For sleeping and waking up.

For forgetting birth and death

To be all of the in between.

I live for more.

More than this room

More than this mind, this body

This soul with all its deep crevices.

For more than you could imagine, I live.

I still love this. And I want you to know that I still take this line:
"For the softening of an eye’s harsh light."
more metaphorically than you meant it to be :]

This is so beautifully expressed.. vivid and tender... Letting us see the depth of your love for him... Excellent lifting write!

A nice piece, but it makes me ask why the subject can't just live for their self?

The punctuation is fine! It's a good piece, the only thing I would recommend is some more descriptive words to paint the picture.
