Haiku's have always been too short for my personal tastes, but the message I draw from reading this one is interesting. I read it as "New Year's is a time for reflection and new beginnings, but we're too busy partying for that to happen." Obviously, you have used less words to say the same thing, but it has a touch of irony to it. Rather than stop and reflect, we do the opposite of that.

In any case I can say I liked it, which is a rare occurrence for me, especially with shorter poems.

When I first read the Haiku, I was a little upset because I thought it was just going to be about drinking or "fun" parties. But I think I've gotten a better interpretation after reading more than the first line. I really enjoy the poem.
In my interpretation (not sure if it's what you meant) it's kind of showing the headaches and troubles with having certain kinds of fun. Perhaps from a personal experience? I don't know why, but it kind of makes me feel miserable.
It's terrific!
