~*~Texting~*~A Poem by LeDiiscoWaiting by my phone, Hoping that it goes off But the room is so quiet All you hear is me cough. There’s a tiny pit in my stomach, When I find out it’s from you. I can’t help but smile Because what you say is true. I wait a few minutes before I press send, So it doesn’t seem like you’re my only friend. Being funny and flirty The text cannot lack Cause once you press send, There’s no taking it back. I write and erase so many times The keys are all worn out. But when that new message sign comes up It makes my heart scream and shout. Snail mail takes too long. Talking is too fast. But texting’s in between, It makes the time go past. I wonder if you feel the same Dorky, happy with jitters. My friends say that when I look at my phone My eyes tend to glitter. You take so long to respond. Maybe you have something else to do. Or maybe you wait like I do, So I don’t think bad of you. But frankly I don’t care If it takes you two seconds to write back, Cause once my phone is open, It’s my keys I will attack. © 2010 LeDiisco |
