Amateur DramaticsA Poem by Lewis Davis-NormanInteresting little one here, let me know what you think :)
The stage is set
We are assembled With ardent flair Voices collect A soliloquy Of honest promise In passionate tones And favourable keys The audience roar With bold appeal And with fervent zeal They give applause. But behind backdrops A stage of whispers Of knowing nods And callous handshakes Behind the eyes Of the viewer's trust Old truths rust Tainted by lies. Is this performed from deep within With humble charm and void of sin Or is this amateur dramatics And the puppetry of politics? © 2013 Lewis Davis-NormanReviews
