![]() Influenced By Both Classmates and ParentsA Chapter by 𝐋.𝐂.![]() Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child's success in school.![]() Influenced By Both Classmates and Parents In my opinion, classmates and parents both influence a child’s success in school heavily. To begin with, classmates are strongly influential to a child because of the time they spend together and their similar age. According to some studies, the ratio of hours children spend with their classmates and their family is about 10:6 (regardless of the sleeping hours), which means on average, children spend 4 full hours more with their classmates than with their family. Therefore, they are more likely to share thoughts and interact with their classmates. Also, people from similar age may easily compare themselves to others or just eventually view each other as complainants because of the ranking systems of exams, especially…. Classmates play a very important role in children’s every day school life, but parents have a major influence on a child’s success, too. Compared to the classmates, parents have much more life experiences that they can share with the kids. When a child faces a problem, the answers the parents can provide may be better than those from their classmates. In fact, parents’ realistic answers are more effective than suggestions given by classmates because the parents may encounter similar situations before themselves. On the other hand, parents are the ones who understand their children the best. Not only can parents give more effective answers, they also know their children better. Most of us pretend to be prefect outside, but at home we don’t disguise ourselves that much. Therefore, the parents usually know their kids’ weaknesses. As a result, they may be a better advisor when it comes to analyzing the children’s key to success. Also, parents know what you are looking for, so they are the ones who can push you hard or provide you a challenge to get what you want. Due to the reasons above, I believe both classmates and parents influence a child’s success in school a lot in different ways. © 2016 𝐋.𝐂. |
