Scars

Scars

A Poem by LCSDCA
"

I wrote this poem for my friend who's battling severe depression. i hope it helped her and maybe this will help others too.

"
The scars you carry on your skin,
And all the ones from deep within,
Wounds you thought would never heal,
The pain you felt was oh so real.

The scars you cut into your arm,
For a second you wanted to do real harm,
Pain, that’s all you wanted to feel,
You used a blade made out of steel.

The scars that shine so red and bright,
And those in your heart that never see light,
Don’t you know they tell your story?
Let me explain, you’ll understand, don’t worry.

The scars, they show that you are stronger,
Whatever caused them has no longer,
The grip on you that filled you with fear,
Never forget that help is near.

The scars, a sign of your survival,
The first stepping stone of your arrival,
Let go of bad memories, please face them and cope,
Enter a new world of friendship, love and hope.
